Before Prodos
Before starting Prodos, our team was leading Tech & Ops at Playbook, a direct-to-consumer startup that scaled to over 200,000 accounts and 20,000 subscribers.
We registered our robo-advisory platform with the SEC, and led the firm through a full regulatory examination. We also managed all the operational complexity that came with scaling a financial product in an ecosystem that still runs on PDFs, legacy portals, and fragile APIs.
It wasn’t always pretty. But we made it work - because we had to.
The Tech Was New. The Infrastructure Wasn’t.
Playbook was built on top of the same custodial and infrastructure providers that many advisers still use today.
We had to get creative to scale.
Email. PDFs. Manual data entry. Back-and-forth forms.
We learned how to build a compliant, scalable back office — even when the pipes were outdated.
The work was high stakes, often manual, and deeply familiar to anyone who’s touched adviser ops:

The Turning Point
In late 2024, as we were winding down Playbook, we spent a lot of time on the phone with advisers - helping them transition client assets to new custodians.
That’s when it clicked.
These advisers were dealing with the exact same problems we’d been solving at Playbook.
But unlike us, they weren’t software or ops professionals. They were advisers.
Their job was to manage clients - not paperwork, workflows, or APIs.
And yet, here they were: spending hours renaming files, retyping data, chasing signatures, and maintaining half-broken Zapier flows just to stay afloat.
Why Prodos
Prodos exists to solve that problem.
We’re taking the operational knowledge we built at Playbook and applying it to a $30 trillion industry that still runs on 1,000 daily paper cuts.
